Emma-June Curik (she/her)
Emma-June Curik completed her musical theatre training at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) in 2006 before graduating from the Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Drama) in 2012. She has since enjoyed an extensive portfolio career as a producer and arts administrator with Queensland Music Festival, Artslink QLD, James Morrison Academy and HOTA, Home of the Arts alongside her creative practice as a theatre-maker, director and teaching artist. Emma-June currently works with Placemakers* Gold Coast, the team behind the annual BLEACH* Festival. 

Emma-June has enjoyed performing with industry veterans such as Rob Guest, Julie Anthony and Stuart Wagstaff, as well as specialising in theatre for young people and touring extensively in the theatre-in-education sector.  

As an advocate for access and inclusion in the arts and cultural sector, Emma-June is particularly proud of her work with Aha Ensemble – a disability-led collective of artists from across South-East QLD who make contemporary works across theatre, installation and performance. Aha’s recent projects include becoming artists in residence at La Boite Theatre, completing the First Night Showcase Residency at the Judith Wright Centre and premiering two brand new works – ‘Explain Normal’ at Metro Arts in 2019 and ‘Absolutely Everybody Judges’ at the Institute of Modern Art in 2022. Most recently, Emma-June and Aha produced a new disability-led artist and sector gathering pilot titled ‘Access Assembly’.
