World Premiere

Sleep and the City

Emma-June Curik

And she couldn’t help but wonder – would falling in love be as easy as falling asleep?

Order a cosmopolitan, swap the stilettos for slippers and join Emma-June as she explores the parallels of looking for love and pursuing a narcolepsy diagnosis.

Featuring a three-piece band led by musical director and  ‘self-proclaimed-Samantha’ Jake Bristow, Sleep and the City delivers the perfect mix of insight, entertainment, and originality, peppered with pop hits and music theatre classics. Perfect for musical theatre goers, cabaret lovers, and fans of the hit TV show bearing a similar name, this world premiere show is sure to have audiences laughing, thinking, and reflecting on their own relationship with sleep.

I hope this project may be a catalyst for change, particularly to encourage others to feel empowered in their own diagnosis journeys, or to more deeply engage with their relationship to sleep.
